We have put a lot of ensembles on the road
Our starting point is travel logistics: for many years we have organised coach travel for choirs, orchestras and wind bands heading out to guest performances. Departure times, instruments in the hold, parking spaces outside the church, driver breaks, rooming lists.
And at the start of almost every journey, one question came up before the coach was even discussed: where are you actually playing? Many groups had the appetite to travel but no venue yet. Finding one takes weeks: phone calls to parish offices, emails to cultural departments, rejections, waiting, starting over.
That is where concertbase comes in: a neutral directory in which every ensemble can find the right venue and every venue becomes visible, regardless of who you travel with. The directory belongs to no travel agency and favours no provider.
During the build-up phase we answer every inquiry personally. That is slower than an algorithm, but better. Whether a church nave suits a 60-voice gospel choir is not decided by seating capacity alone.
